Chip-Scale-Mikrowellen-Photonik-Übertragungs- und Verarbeitungsmodul für RoF-Empfängerverbindung

Überblick

The overall goal of the proposed project is to investigate the novel microwave photonic transmission and processing module (MWPTP) of the RoF receiver link, which connects the remote radio head (RRH) and the baseband unit (BBU). The proposed RoF link based on the MWPTP module is intended to outperform conventional electronic transmission links currently used in wireless communication networks in terms of reconfigurability and operating frequency range. This project plans to investigate and model various non-idealities that affect link performance and to experimentally validate the results. The experimental validation will focus on the realization of the electronic-photonic integrated circuit (EPIC) with the critical link components on the silicon photonics platform, a 45 nm SOI CMOS technology from GlobalFoundries.
