Four presentations by DMRC PHD students at the Solid Freeform Symposium 2019 in Austin, Texas, USA

As every year, the DMRC presented their research at the Solid Freeform Symposium in Austin / USA and attend this important symposium for the AM community. The topics of the research cover polymers and metal AM processes, as well as design approaches for AM.

  • Process Parameter Optimization to Improve the Mechanical Properties of Arburg Plastic Freeformed Components (André Hirsch),
  • Influences of Part Microstructure on Mechanical Properties of PA6x Laser Sintered Specimens (Wolfgang Diekmann / Evonik, Christina Kummert)
  • Development, Production and Post Processing of a Topology Optimized Aircraft Bracket (Helge Klippstein)
  • Investigation of the Processability of Different PEEK Materials in the FDM Process with Regard to Weld Seam Strength (Julian Wächter)

This Symposium has proven once more, to have high value for the AM community, as nearly all research and industrial partners working in AM are present and share their work and researches with a global auditorium.
