Together with eight other European universities, Paderborn University has joined the European University Alliance "COLOURS" (COLlaborative innOvative sUstainable Regional univerSities) in 2021. From January 2024, the Alliance will receive around 14 million euros in funding from the European Commission for four years as part of the European Universities Initiative. This means that COLOURS is now one of a total of 50 "European Universities" across Europe. Together, the partners want to strengthen their European network, increase their international visibility and promote mobility within Europe. In addition, a multidisciplinary approach is to be developed in order to jointly tackle the global social challenges of our time. Synergy effects are to be utilised to intensify cooperation in teaching, research and knowledge and technology transfer. Among other things, it is planned to create new attractive offers for virtual and physical mobility as well as long-term joint research, study and teaching activities.
To bring the COLOURS Alliance closer to the internal UPB university public, the individual Alliance partners will present their institutions as part of the "International Tuesdays". In addition to a general presentation of the universities, possible starting points for joint co-operation with UPB in research, studies, teaching and administration will be highlighted. As part of the event, interested participants are cordially invited to exchange ideas with the partners, make contacts and ask questions.
Last summer semester, the universities of Le Mans in France, Ferrara in Italy, Jan Dlugosz in Poland and Castilla-La Mancha in Spain presented themselves. You can find the presentations here. On 12 December, the North Macedonian University St Kliment Ohridski Bitola (UKLO) and the Swedish Kristianstad University will continue the series. Further information on the COLOURS Alliance can be found here.
The event is aimed at all interested members of Paderborn University and will take place via Zoom and in English. Registration is not necessary. The link to the event and further information can be found on the website of the "International Tuesdays".
