After completing their doctorate, academics have a variety of career paths open to them. If you decide to stay at the university, you can often expect a range of different fixed-term contracts as a postdoc. But how long can you actually be employed at a university on a fixed-term contract? What applies if I have been abroad, had a child or my position is financed by third-party funds?
The ‘Career Spotlight’ on 4 June 2024 will take a closer look at the topic of the German Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act (WissZeitVG). After a brief input from Dunja Denecke (Head of Department 4.2) and Simone Hansmeier (Administrator, Department 4.2), there will be the opportunity to ask the experts questions, but also to exchange ideas and network with doctoral students and postdocs from other faculties.
The speakers will be Dunja Denecke (Head of Department 4.2) and Simone Hansmeier (Administrator, Department 4.2). Organisation: Dr Henriette-Juliane Seeliger (Office of Academic Career Development)
Registrations are possible until 31.5.2024. The event will take place in room H6.232
