The European Student Card

Are you planning a semester abroad or would you like to be recognised as a student across Europe?

With the European Student Card (ESC), you have official proof of your student status that’s valid across Europe – without needing any additional documents or having to apply for a new card.

The ESC is a European initiative that adds a digitally verifiable component to your existing student ID card. Universities and service providers across Europe can use it to confirm your student status in real time, for example to grant access to libraries and Mensa (cafeteria and dining hall), or to offer discounts on public transport or events.

Gut zu wissen

Mehr als nur Erasmus. Du brauchst kein Erasmus-Stipendium, die ESC steht allen immatrikulierten Studierenden offen.

Kostenlos. Die ESC ist für Studierende komplett kostenlos.

Bereits europaweit etabliert. Über 893 Institutionen in 18 Ländern sind bereits dabei und mehr als 3,22 Millionen Studierende nutzen aktiv eine ESC (Stand: November 2024).
