The ESC is a student ID card that is recognised throughout Europe and makes your student status digitally verifiable.

It is part of the Erasmus+ initiative of the European Union.

No. As an enrolled student at Paderborn University, the ESC functionality is automatically integrated into your student ID card.

 

The ESC applies in all Erasmus+ programme countries. This includes all EU member states as well as other European countries such as Norway, Iceland, Turkey and North Macedonia.

You can prove your student status at the host university and gain access to libraries, cafeterias, sports facilities, public transport discounts and other campus services - without any additional documents.

Many universities offer digital student ID cards that include the ESC function.
