Paderborn University wants to get pupils excited about maths

Location: BigBlueButton

Maths youngsters watch out: In the winter semester 2023/24, new exciting topics await middle and high school students who enjoy mathematical puzzles and brainteasers at the Paderborn Maths Circle of the University of Paderborn. How do you actually prove well-known theorems of trigonometry? What techniques do you use to prove mathematical theorems? What are residue classes and how can you use them to prove divisibility rules? In the three interactive online workshops, the pupils work on the topics "Inkreis, Umkreis und Satz des Thales", "Induktion und andere Beweistechniken" as well as "Kongruenz modulo n" and get to know interesting mathematics beyond the school material. The online meetings using the BigBlueButton video conferencing software will take place on Saturdays 11 November 2023, 2 December 2023 and 27 January 2024, each from 10am to 1pm. Further information and the registration form are available on the website of the Paderborn Maths Circle.
