Registration period for the summer semester 2024:

For Degree Seeking Students:  February 15 - April 05 

Further enrollment deadlines that deviate from this will be communicated individually in the respective admission notice!


It is strongly recommended to participate in the orientation for new students which will take place from April 02 - April 05. The lecture period starts on April 08. Thus enrolled students can shift to the campus at any point of time, but it is strongly recommended to arrive on campus until April 22 for ensuring a smooth course of studies.

  • For the enrollment, please send us the documents listed below as a PDF document by e-mail. Alternatively, you can send the documents by conventional mail to the International Office.
  • When sending the documents, please use the email address provided with your application. We would also like to point out that incomplete document sets cannot be processed. If it should happen that you have to submit documents subsequently, we would ask you to send us the complete set of documents again.
  • A registration without a visa or residence permit is possible. However, the possibility to enter the country remains a necessity in order to obtain a degree! When in Germany, students need an appropriate residence permit.

All of the necessary documents for the enrollment are listed in your Notice of Admission. Please read it carefully!

Please send us at least the following:

  1. Your passport 
  2. Proof of payment of the semester fee (for students services and ticket for public transport)
    Winter semester 2023/24:   € 347.82
    Summer semester 2024:  € 352.75

    The semester contribution includes already the fee for the semester ticket

    The bank details required are as follows:

  3. The university needs to receive an electronic notification by a statutory health insurance company as a confirmation that you comply with the regulations regarding the ogligational health insurance for students. 
    Please note the information on health insurance for international students and the electronic student registration procedure.
     
  4. Your filled out matriculation application form (tutorial)
     
  5. Only if you have been registered as a degree student at a German university before: Deregistration certificate and "certificate of no objection" (Unbedenklichkeitsbescheinigung) from your previous university in Germany.
     
  6.  Only for doctorate students: Declaration of the examination council (stamped and signed from the head of the doctorate commettee). A template can be downloaded under the link below.
