Conference of the Early Career Scholars’ Group of the Working Group of Church Historians in the German-Speaking Region (AGKG)

Overview

The Early Career Conference of Church Historians takes place every two years at changing locations and is aimed at doctoral candidates and early postdoctoral researchers from the German-speaking region. It provides a protected forum for the presentation, discussion, and further development of ongoing qualification projects and promotes scholarly exchange as well as networking among early career researchers in church history.

The programme combines project presentations, a poster session, a writing workshop focused on the development of research-related skills, and impulses on third-party funding acquisition and career paths within and beyond academia. Scholarly lectures and accompanying formats deepen academic exchange and encourage reflection on current research questions. The overall aim of the conference is the sustainable strengthening, professional profiling, and self-positioning of early career scholars in church history.
