TRR 142 - Subcycle nonlinearities of ultrastrong light-matter coupling (B08*)

Overview

In this project we will investigate subcycle nonlinearities of highly narrowband THz cavity polaritons in the deep-strong light-matter coupling regime. Cyclotron and intersubband resonances of n-type modulation-doped GaAs/AlxGa1-xAs multi quantum wells fabricated by molecular beam epitaxy will be coupled to a novel generation of THz metal resonators exploiting spectrally narrowband quadrupolar far-field coupling. Using two-dimensional THz strong-field spectroscopy, we will investigate the subcycle nonlinearities of the resulting light-matter hybridized cavity polaritons.
