"Silo Exhibition": Students from the subject areas of art and textiles at Paderborn University present their work

Location: Silo (Gebäude S)

At the end of the academic year, students from the subject areas of art and textiles at Paderborn University are showing their work in an exhibition. All interested parties are invited to view and discuss the artistic works from fields such as painting, graphics, sculpture and photography as well as textile design. The exhibition will open on Tuesday, 3 February at 6 p.m. in the Silo (Building S) on the first floor. Prof Dr Matthias Bauer, President of Paderborn University, will welcome the guests together with Prof Dr Harald Schroeter-Wittke, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and Prof Dr Karina Pauls, Head of the Institute of Art / Music / Textiles. Prof Dr Sabiene Autsch, Deputy Chair of the subject area of Art, will introduce the exhibition.

For visitors and prospective students, the various themes of the art projects create a diverse picture of artistic and creative development processes. This can be seen in the various practices and processes, in the creative and conceptual rethinking of traditional and contemporary themes, but also in the curatorial reflection of presentation forms and formats. Among other things, the students have explored the theme of the "self-portrait", which is familiar to many in the form of "selfies", but is much more complex from an artistic perspective. The student works from the fields of fashion, clothing and textiles have been conceptualised this academic year under the theme of "changing weathers". In addition to these thematic group works, students from the higher semesters are showing their design work based on freely chosen concepts.

The exhibition is open daily from 4 to 8 February from 10 am to 7 pm. On Wednesday, 4 February, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., interested parties can discuss the artistic works directly with students. During the exhibition, this is also possible by appointment. Registration is via kunstpraxis@kw.uni-paderborn.de.
