Parents as companions in study orientation: Online lectures on 17 and 19 October

 |  StudiesWeb seminarStudent Advice Centre

The decision for a degree programme and a specific course of study is not made overnight. Study orientation is a process in which a number of things have to be considered and weighed up. Parents are important discussion partners and companions for their children: joint reflection on experiences, wishes and ideas is required. But also support and encouragement. Kirsten Bondzio from the Central Student Advisory Service of Paderborn University will explain how parents can accompany their children in this process in addition to basic information about studying in an online lecture on 17 October at 6 pm. Registration is possible at: www.connect-pb.de/eltern/infoveranstaltungen/. Further information on the lectures is also available there.

In another online lecture, Kathrin Weber from the service point "Studying with Impairment" at Paderborn University informs about concrete support offers for prospective students with a visible or non-visible impairment. Paderborn University is actively committed to supporting students with health impairments, chronic illnesses or disabilities in their studies so that they can participate in higher education on an equal footing and in a self-determined manner. The online lecture will take place on 19 October, also at 6 pm.

The information events are part of a series of information events for parents organised by the Transition from School to Work department of the Paderborn District Education and Integration Centre.
