Career Spotlights
What happens after you’ve completed your PhD? What opportunities are open to you, and how can you actively shape your professional future? Whether in academia, business or other professional fields – developing your own career brings with it many questions and challenges.
Through our ‘Career Spotlights’ series, we aim to support you in finding your own path and making informed decisions about your next career steps. We explore topics that are important for your professional development, offer practical tips and insights into different career paths, and put you in touch with people who are willing to share their experiences with you. Of course, the Career Spotlights also provide an opportunity for you to network with other doctoral candidates and postdocs.
| By the way: Do you know the JobTalk event series? This online format organised by the universities in the NRW Staff Development Network presents selected areas of work outside the university. Participation can be credited in the certificate programme ‘Qualification for Professional Fields in Business and Society’. |
Visibility in Academia: LinkedIn, ResearchGate & Co.
LinkedIn, ResearchGate & Co. – just how important is it to have a presence on social media? What opportunities do social networks offer for raising your profile, showcasing your research and making professional contacts? And how can you establish an authentic online presence without having to post constantly or market yourself? We’ll be addressing these and other questions at the next Career Spotlight.
Following a brief presentation by Prof. Dr Sven Lindberg, there will, as always, be plenty of time for your questions.
