Informal network meetings for starting a doctorate
"Suddenly" a doctoral candidate, with not only the research question but also many other concerns in mind. How do others organize the start of their doctorate and manage the initial challenges, such as attending the first conference, writing a proposal, or adapting to new roles?
The informal networking meetings aim to connect doctoral candidates in the early stages of their PhD to discuss current challenges and questions with peers, exchange experiences, and develop solutions.
Groups of 4-5 doctoral candidates are formed and meet independently over a period of six months (e.g. once a month). There is an initial moderated kick-off meeting where topics are gathered, and the approach and group goals are aligned together.
The next round of informal network meetings will start in spring 2026. If you are interested, please register using the form by 15 April. The kick-off will take place on Thursday, 30 April from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
