The idea be­hind the in­cent­ive award

Good young scientists and engineers are becoming increasingly scarce. It is therefore all the more important that universities and companies do not stand idly by and watch this development, but actively promote this field of study or profession in schools at an early stage.

What is the idea of the incentive award?

The incentive award recognises special academic achievements in the natural sciences (Mathematics, Computer Science, Natural Sciences (i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Physics)): The best pupil in an 8th and 9th grade class of all 26 secondary and comprehensive schools in the local region (Höxter and Paderborn districts) is honoured.

Who sponsors the prize?

The sponsors of the prize are the VerbundVolksbank OWL eG, the company dSPACE from Paderborn and the Claas Foundation from Harsewinkel. MAHRENHOLZ Fenster Holding GmbH, HEGLA GmbH & Co. KG and Vauth-Sagel Holding GmbH & Co. KG from the district of Höxter are also involved in the prize. The districts of Paderborn and Höxter and the city of Paderborn are also involved in the prize.

Paderborn University organises the incentive award annually. The students are nominated by the schools in the districts of Paderborn and Höxter and invited to the university's Audimax and receive a certificate and other "goodies" from a membersof the Executive Board and the representative sponsors.
