Information for Refugees

If you wish to enrol for a German taught degree course, you generally need to prove language skills on level C1 CEFR. For this scope, Paderborn University offers intensive preparatory German language courses on all levels starting with A2. At the end of the Advanced Level (C1), students sit the DSH (German Language Proficiency Certifiate for University Entrance).

From level B1, the participation of refugees can be supported by the NRWege ins Studium (MKW) programme by paying the DSH course fees. The prerequisite is an entitlement to admission to German higher education institutions, which must be proven by your educational certificates acquired in your home country, and a completed asylum procedure. Applicants should be entiteled to live in the city or region of Paderborn in order to be able to attend the course regularly und punctually. All courses starts daily on 8.15 in different locations on Campus.
