Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa (JDU) has been part of the Polish higher education landscape for over 50 years. Founded in 1971 as a Higher Teacher Training College, it has developed into a traditional university with a strong focus on teaching, research and international cooperation.
The university aims to promote innovation, knowledge transfer and international networking, combining academic excellence with interdisciplinary research and practice-oriented education.
JDU offers around 60 degree programmes in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, health sciences and engineering, with particularly dynamic developments in law, psychology and medicine.
With over 220 international cooperation agreements worldwide (including Erasmus+ and CEEPUS), the university has a strong network and works closely with universities and research organisations in Europe and beyond. In 2023, it was recognised as a full member of the European University Association (EUA) and, in 2024, was admitted to the Conference of Rectors of Polish Universities.
