In the course of your career in science or academia, you have manifold possibilities of gaining international experience abroad. With an array of partnerships with universities abroad, Paderborn University promotes international cooperation in teaching and research. Academic stays abroad: Selected scholarships and funding programmes

ERASMUS+ mobility for teaching purposes or training and further training
DAAD: Financial support of academic stays abroad, including congress trips, research stays, lectureships

Scholarship database of the DAAD: Research tools for special scholarship programmes depending on the host country and discipline

Congress and lecture tour programme of the DAAD: Promotion of the active participation of German scientists and academics in congresses abroad.

DAAD: Research Scholarships for Ph.D. students: various disciplines, 1 to 12 months, devisble into several periods/ countries

DAAD: Postdoctoral Researchers International Mobility Experience (P.R.I.M.E.): Postdocs of all disciplines, 12 months research stay abroad plus a 6-month integration phase in Germany

DAAD: Research scholarships for postdoc scientists and academics: Postdocs of all disciplines, 3- to 24-month research stays aboard, where applicable 6-month reintegration phase in Germany, max. 4 years post-doctorate

DAAD Short-term lectureships: Teaching stay (4 weeks to 6 months) at a foreign university

DFG: Walter Benjamin Programme: Postdocs of all disciplines, for max. 2-year research stays abroad

Alexander von Humboldt Foundation: Feodor Lynen Research Scholarship: Postdoc scientists/academics of all disciplines, research stays abroad (6-24 months), max. 4 years post-doctorate

Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships: Marie Sklodowska-Curie mobility measures in the EU programme Horizont 2020: Research stays in European countries (12-24 months) or non-European countries (24-36 months)

European Research Council - ERC Starting Grants: Postdocs of all disciplines, 2-7 years post doctorate with the aim to support the set-up of a first independent research team (all disciplines), implementation of a research project in an EU state or an EU-associated state, funding for max. five years

Marie Sklodowska-Curie International Training Networks: Doctoral degree positions within the scope of international research projects, funded by the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Programme of the EU. Standard duration is 36 months
Fulbright Doctorate Scholarship: Funding of four- to six-month stays in the USA within the scope of a dissertation
Heinrich-Hertz Foundation (NRW): Scholarships for up to 1-year research stays abroad

Paderborn University awards a limited number of travel grants for conference, information and research trips. You can find the application requirements in the Funding Guidelines for the Allocation of Funds from the Research Reserve. Please contact the dean of your faculty.
