Die schöpferische Kraft der Fremdheitserfahrung. Phänomenologische Überlegungen zur Fremdheit – zum geschichtsdidaktischen Konzept des Fremdverstehens – zu geschichtskulturellen Ordnungen

Overview

The doctoral project has two main directions: On the one hand, it discusses the 'Phenomenology of the Strange' according to Bernhard Waldenfels, additionally employing fundamental considerations on the topic of strangeness. Taking these considerations as the basis, the historical didactic concept of understanding strangers is critically reflected upon in its various facets and expanded to include considerations of the 'Phenomenology of the Strange'. Since, according to Waldenfels, the concept of foreignness goes hand in hand with the concept of order and orders only become concrete in their appearance, qualitative interviews with non-formal educational actors are evaluated in an exploratory, documentary manner in addition to the theoretical considerations. The goal is to apply the latter and thus reconstruct experiences of strangerhood as well as investigate the ordering patterns of the actors in order to evaluate to what extent the specific historical events dealt with play a role in the personal systems of relevance of the interviewees.
