Johannes Hollenbach

Since June 2024, Johannes Hollenbach has been working as a research assistant at the Chair of Empirical Economics. Since 2021, he has been employed as a researcher in the Health Economics Department at the RWI – Leibniz Institute for Economic Research in Essen. He has been a visiting researcher at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and the University of Wisconsin–Madison. 

His research areas include applied econometrics, as well as health and education economics. He is broadly interested in how decisions made throughout the life course influence healthy aging, and in the role of policy in promoting and sustaining it. 

Johannes earned an M.S. in Economics and a B.A. in International Economics and Development from the University of Bayreuth. He worked as a student assistant at the Chair of Development Economics and the Chair of Institutional Economics, and spent a semester abroad in South Korea.
