About Christian Wieschhoff

Christian Wieschhoff is a joint doctoral candidate in the Sustainable Materials Chemistry Group and the group of Dr Teresa de los Arcos. After completing his Bachelor's degree in Material Design - Bionics and Photonics at Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences, which he completed with a cooperative Bachelor's thesis at the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety and Energy Technology UMSICHT - on the development and evaluation of a concept for the additive manufacturing of leather-based composites using fused layer modelling - he moved to Paderborn University for his Master's degree in Materials Science.

During his studies, he worked as a research assistant in Technical Macromolecular Chemistry and completed his Master's degree with a thesis on AFM-based IR spectroscopy of thin inorganic films under the supervision of PD Dr Teresa de los Arcos de Pedro and PD Dr Adrian Keller.

In order to open up a new field of research, he joined the groups of Jun. Prof. Nieves López Salas and Dr. Teresa de los Arcos, where he designed and constructed a novel electrochemical cell that enables operando NAP-XPS measurements - for electrochemical analysis of carbonaceous materials used as electrodes in transition metal CO₂ batteries.
