A total of seven young people began their apprenticeships at Paderborn University on Monday 3 August. They will be trained at the university over the next three years in four different fields.

Training coordinator Norbert Bornhorst welcomed the new trainees at the induction event, alongside Theamarie Bittermann from the Human Resources department, Steffen Kanand from the Staff Council, and Daniel Santos representing the Representative Body for People with Severe Disabilities (SBV). Bornhorst provided the new trainees with information about the university, assisted by Jule Druben, who is currently in her third year of training as an administrative assistant.

During a round of introductions, the trainees got to know one another and had the opportunity to present their chosen apprenticeship roles. At lunchtime, the new trainees were able to familiarise themselves further with their respective training departments.

We warmly welcome the following to their new apprenticeship roles:

Administrative assistants: Marlies Schierling and Leonie Maria Panten

IT specialists for system integration: Fabian Busch and Max Leon Groetzki

IT specialists for application development: Alliyah Tshepo Gwisa and Frank Nguyen

IT systems electronics technicians: Kyrylo Horobets
