No more admission restrictions in future

The application period for the 2026/27 winter semester at Paderborn University is now open – and there are some significant changes: from the coming semester, all study programmes will have open admission. Furthermore, aptitude tests for prospective students wishing to study Sport in all teacher education degree programmes, as well as for Music, have been abolished. An overview of the wide range of study programmes on offer – more than 70 study programmes as well as numerous combination options within teacher education – is available on the website meine.upb.de. Applications can be submitted from now on. The deadline is 21 September.

For prospective students with an entrance qualification for a university of applied sciences, Paderborn University offers the opportunity to obtain university entrance qualifications for the courses on offer. To do so, applicants must demonstrate a general education that meets the University’s requirements, as well as specific subject-related aptitude relevant to the courses on offer. Anyone interested in studying at Paderborn University but who still has questions can also find out more information at the ‘Long Evening of Student Advisory Services’ on Thursday 25 June, from 4 pm to 7 pm. The Central Student Advisory Service (ZSB) will, amongst other things, provide an insight into the courses on offer, the campus and everyday student life.
