The first milestone meeting was held at Paderborn University together with nine project partners from science and industry.
On Wednesday, 18 September 2019, the "FlexiEnergy" project consortium met at Paderborn University for the first milestone meeting. The day's programme included the presentation and discussion of the results of the ongoing and completed work packages. Workshops were also held on the topics of "Designing future tariff models" and "Effects of electromobility on energy grids". The work packages that are due to start shortly were also planned in detail.
The project is developing a decision support system (EUS) to help shape the future energy system. The EUS is intended to support the stakeholders involved in the planning and transformation process and provide recommendations for the future design of energy systems. In addition to recommendations on grid design, recommendations on the design of business and tariff models as well as regulatory policy recommendations are also to be derived.
The results achieved to date were first presented at the milestone meeting. These include the designed use cases, the results of existing models for the simulation and optimisation of energy systems as well as the identified data sources and processed data. Furthermore, a value network was created for the energy domain and potential courses of action (i.e. for grid expansion and the design of business and tariff models) were derived on this basis. The project partners from the companies UNITY and RZVN Wehr then organised workshops on the topics of "Designing future tariff models" and "Effects of electromobility on energy grids". The participants focussed on the conceivable future tariff landscape for energy consumers, how tariffs can be made attractive for customers and which grid-beneficial effects can be generated in each case.
