The university management is organising a research prize for scientists to support exceptional research projects outside the mainstream. In addition to research projects with visionary ideas, daring hypotheses, creative and unconventional technologies, special attention will be paid to the aspect of interdisciplinarity. The prize money of 150,000 euros is available for a period of one and a half years and can be used flexibly for the project. Applications will be accepted until Monday, 22 May.

The following formal requirements must be met and also apply to co-applicants:

  • Completed doctorate or higher academic qualification (ability to conduct independent research).
  • Applicants must be demonstrably in a contractual employment relationship with the university.

The following documents should be included in the application and submitted to the Research Committee in electronic form as a PDF file:

  • Completed application form
  • Presentation of the participating researchers and their main areas of work
  • Short CV (max. 2 pages) stating your position at the institute and listing up to ten selected publications (if applicable, short CVs of co-applicants)
  • Copy of the doctoral certificate of early career researchers
  • Brief description of the project (project outline max. 76 lines)
  • Cost plan/information on the planned use of funds (max. 1 page)
  • Declaration of consent (original signed)
