In the winter semester 2023/24, the Office of Educational Innovation and University Didactics is organising a joint lecture series entitled "UPB for Future" together with the department of Prof. Dr René Fahr, Vice President for Knowledge and Technology Transfer at Paderborn University. Not only researchers from all five faculties and many different departments, but also external speakers share their thoughts and perspectives on the topic of sustainability. This winter semester, Katja Diehl, Kilian Kaminski and Dr Vanessa Just will be visiting Paderborn University.

On Thursday, 16 November, the external lectures will start with a presentation by mobility expert and bestselling author Katja Diehl on the topic of "Mobility transition is human, not technical". Kilian Kaminski, one of the three founders of "refurbed" and former head of Amazon Germany's "Refurbished Products Program", will give a talk on Thursday, 23 November on the topic of "Reduce, reuse, refurbish: Viennese scale-up revolutionises the electronics industry". Dr Vanessa Just, start-up entrepreneur and expert in artificial intelligence (AI) and sustainability, will round off the external contributions to the lecture series on Thursday, 7 December with her lecture on "Between duty and choice: using AI for sustainable entrepreneurial added value".

All interested parties are cordially invited to attend the lectures, which will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. in lecture theatre L1. There will be time for questions and discussion at the end of each lecture. Abstracts of the lectures and all further details on the lecture series can be found on the "UPB for Future" website.
