Arriving by train and public transport (PaderSprinter)

From Paderborn main station you can reach the university within a few minutes using the following bus lines (destination stop is always "Uni/Südring"):

  •  UNI line in the direction of Uni/Südring (runs only during the lecture period)
  •  Line 4 in direction to Dahl
  •  Line 9 in direction to Kaukenberg
  • Alternatively, you can take line 68 in the direction of "Schöne Aussicht" to the stop "Uni/Schöne Aussicht".

Address for car navigation:

Coming from Hannover:
- take the A2 in the direction of Dortmund
- at the junction Bielefeld change to the A33 direction Paderborn/Brilon
- take the exit "Paderborn Zentrum"
- at the second exit take the direction Universität/Zentrum
- follow the signs "Universität"

Coming from Kassel:
- take the A44 in the direction of Dortmund
- at the junction Wünnenberg-Haaren change to the A33, direction Paderborn
- take the exit "Paderborn Zentrum"
- change to the B64 in direction Höxter
- at the second exit take the direction Universität/Zentrum
- follow the signs "Universität"

Coming from Dortmund:
- take the A2 in the direction of Hannover
- at the junction Bielefeld change to the A33 direction Paderborn/Brilon
- take the exit "Paderborn Zentrum"
- at the second exit take the direction Universität/Zentrum
- follow the signs "Universität"

Recommendations for arrival by plane

  • Paderborn/Lippstadt: Paderborn/Lippstadt Airport offers regular Lufthansa connections to Munich and Frankfurt (from summer 2017). Between Paderborn's main station and the terminal at the airport, express bus line 400 and line 460 (Ostwestfalen-Lippe-Bus) run on a regular basis. The NE 16 overnight express train runs on weekends and before specific public holidays.   • Hannover: With the S5 you can reach the main station in Paderborn in about 2 hours without changing trains. For further information see description "by train and public transport".
  • Düsseldorf: There are also direct connections from Düsseldorf Airport to Paderborn central station with a journey time of approx. 2 hours. For further information see description "by train and public transport".
  • Münster / Osnabrück: From the Airport Münster/Osnabrück you need approx. 2.5 hours by public transport to reach Paderborn main station (currently no direct connection available, at least one change). For further information see description "by train and public transport".
