- Emilie du Chatelet
I work on Emilie du Chatelet and the integration of her work into the Early Modern Era. This aim of my research is reflected in a book project, which arose during my time as a post-doc at Harvard University, as well as in my habilitation project (professorial qualification), workshops, presentations and articles.
- Early Modern Philosophy
I am specialised in the Early Modern period, in particular 1) in view of Émilie du Châtelet's contribution to this period, which has not been adequately explored and recognised and 2) with regard to the historical distinction between the Early Modern Period and Kant. This research interest is reflected in my habilitation project (professorial qualification).
- Kant
I am interested in a theory of knowledge in Kant. During my time as a PhD researcher I undertook an analysis of the systematic structure of the Critique of Pure Reason. Specifically, I investigated the concept of time and the concept of transcendental self-consciousness as the two core themes of Kant’s depiction of the connection between the understanding and nature.
- Martin Heidegger
My dissertation was focused on Heidegger’s interpretation of Kant and is concerned with the role it plays for Heidegger’s fundamental question and intention prior to the so-called Turn, as well as with his understanding of time. Besides this, I am concerned with his earlier series of lectures up until 1936 “Kant and the Problem of Metaphysics”, which are highly informative writings concerning Heidegger’s intentions and questions, yet which have not been adequately explored.
