iQBuddy - Intelligent model recommendation system

Overview

In view of current developments in the field of digitalization and sustainability, new and demanding challenges arise for the development of Intelligent Technical Systems (ITS). The shift towards a more digitized and sustainable world leads to changing boundary conditions and stakeholders. These shifts necessitate increased interdisciplinary collaboration. Especially in the context of systems engineering, the coordinated work of different disciplines is becoming increasingly essential. A key requirement for effective collaboration in this area is the existence of an interdisciplinary system model. This model should be established in the early stages of product development to serve as a basis for communication and collaboration. An additional aspect that must be considered in this development is the sustainability of products. The integration of economic and ecological sustainability considerably expands the requirements and specialist disciplines. However, modeling sustainable intelligent technical systems faces novel challenges due to the lack of appropriate tools and methods to model them considering sustainability aspects. Furthermore, many developers lack the necessary knowledge to adequately consider these complex contents.

Objective

The overall goal of the iQBuddy project is to develop a set of tools for automated modeling support in the system design of future Intelligent Technical Systems. The focus is especially on the modeling of sustainable systems, such as photovoltaic systems and similar applications. This tool shall support the interactive system design and provide design recommendations during the modeling process. A key concern here is to reduce redundant modeling work and allow the developers involved to focus more on value-added and creative development tasks. The application of the developed tools thus aims at an increase in efficiency, which has a positive effect on the development of ITS. The implementation is done in a user-centric manner to ensure high user acceptance and to ensure intuitive operation. By creating a tool that facilitates the complex modeling of sustainable intelligent technical systems, the iQBuddy project contributes to meeting the challenges of digitalization and sustainability in the development of ITS.
