Short-term childcare - PUKi - Paderborn University Kids
Since summer semester 2007, Paderborn University students and employees with children have been able to benefit from a short-term childcare service with qualified staff. This childcare service is intended to free up parents to deal with important university-related matters, while knowing their children are in good hands.
Children between the ages of one and twelve can be supervised and entertained in the facility by qualified staff, assisted by Education Studies students.
The service is intended to provide childcare at short notice/short-term childcare when the child’s usual childcare provider is unavailable or in special cases, such as during consultation hours, work meetings, seminars, examination group meetings, library visits and committee meetings.
Children are brought to the facility by their parent(s) or a caregiver. They are then registered and their parents’ telephone numbers are noted. Parents must remain on the university premises, must be reachable by telephone and must be able to pick up their child at short notice if the child so desires or for any other reason.

Room(s)
A beautifully furnished playroom has been created in a large, bright room in Building E (Room: E2.301), where children can feel completely at ease.
Light-colored furniture and beautiful rugs create a friendly atmosphere. During childcare hours, the children have a wide variety of play options. A wide range of building toys is available to the children on the building rug.
At the art and craft table, children can let their creativity run wild. A Toniebox, board games, puzzles, and books for children of all ages are also part of the play selection.
Playing makes you hungry - and sometimes tired! At the dining table, the children can eat the food they’ve brought from home and quench their thirst. To relax, lounge around, or listen to stories, the children can make themselves comfortable on a sofa or in a cozy hiding place.
Right next to the playroom, the PUKis have their own restroom and a changing table.
