Programs, opportunities and support for professors

Paderborn University employs a high proportion of female professors compared to the rest of Germany and is committed to further increasing the numbers here.

Through its Dual Career Service, Paderborn University provides advice and support for newly appointed professors and their families.

Paderborn University professors are offered coaching, to help them reflect on where they are currently at in their career and explore options for their individual career development, with professional support.

A key step for increasing numbers of women in professorships in the long term is to encourage female early-career researchers and junior academics into an academic career. The university has set up a number of different mentoring programs aimed at this.

You can find information on the “Female Professors in Portrait” book (from 2012) and short film “Female Professors at Paderborn University” here.

Paderborn University offers professors the opportunity to leverage professional one-on-one coaching. The coaching programme is carried out by the Staff Development team at Paderborn University (SG 4.5).
