Gender Award (Genderpreis)

In 2009, Paderborn University received the Gender Award NRW (Genderpreis) for "Gender Equitable Higher Education Concepts", endowed with 100,000 euros. The award was presented by the Ministry of Innovation, Science, Research and Technology of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.

The Gender Award is awarded to universities that offer innovative career concepts in research and teaching and adequately implement them in practice. When selecting excellent gender equality concepts at universities, not only submitted concepts for improving career opportunities for women are taken into account, but also the progress already achieved in the field of gender equality.

On 22 November 2005, Paderborn University was the first university in NRW to be awarded the designation of “family-friendly university”.

Paderborn University has received the TOTAL E-QUALITY Award for their equality-oriented Human Resources policies.
