Workshop on "Gender identity at the university & in teaching" with Né Fink

Gender diversity is also becoming increasingly visible at the university, especially in teaching. However, gender diversity, including the linguistic inclusion of this in everyday teaching and learning, is still often experienced as a challenge. How do I deal with new names or neo-pronouns in lectures or seminars? How can I as a teacher think about gender diversity and teach the topic competently in my field?

This workshop teaches the basics of dealing with gender diversity in everyday teaching and clarifies uncertainties in this regard. Terms that are often used in connection with gender diversity (e.g. inter*, trans*, non-binary) will be defined. The speaker will give examples of the realities of life for so-called gender minorities and provide an overview of the misunderstandings and obstacles that can arise, particularly in the context of teaching. In addition, there are practical tips and exercises for respectful interaction with this target group and their needs, so that contact in everyday university life is competent, easy and natural.
