The civil servants employed at the University of Paderborn have a public-law service and loyalty relationship with their employer. Various legal requirements apply to the underlying employment relationship, which are regulated, among other things, in the Civil Servant Status Act (BeamtStG) and the State Civil Servant Act NRW (LBG). Special regulations also result from the NRW Higher Education Act, among others. The legal framework for their activities often differs from that of the salaried employees working at the university.
The Human Resources Department - Section 4.2 is responsible for the personnel matters of the civil servants of the central administration and the university library as well as the personnel matters of the academic civil servants, the university professors and the junior professors as well as the seconded teachers.
