Security services for women

The following evening and weekend services are available for female students and staff:

  • “Security officer escort”between 8 p.m. and midnight, women working or studying alone on campus can contact this service for a university security officer to escort them across campus to any campus car park or university bus stop. This service can also be requested for escort from the library at night by calling 05251 60-2499.
  • A personal alarm device, which can be quickly and easily activated in the event of danger, generating a loud sound, can be borrowed from the University Library’s lending desk against deposit of a library card.
  • Two study spaces are provided for women in the library entrance area, near the information centre; these spaces are reserved exclusively for women between 8 p.m. and midnight and must be vacated for use by them during these hours.

The university’s security officers patrol the library regularly every evening after 8 p.m.
