Civil servants at Paderborn University

The civil servants employed at Paderborn University have a public-law employment and fiduciary relationship with their employer. Various legal requirements apply to the underlying employment relationship, which are regulated in the Civil Service Status Act (BeamtStG) and the NRW State Civil Service Act (LBG), among others. Special regulations also result from the NRW Higher Education Act, among others. The legal framework for their work often differs from that of those employed by the university under collective agreements.

The prerequisites for appointment as a civil servant are the recruitment requirements for the respective position and the general requirements under civil service law.

The Human Resources Department - Unit 4.2 is responsible for the personnel matters of civil servants in central administration and the University Library as well as the personnel matters of academic civil servants.

Please note:

Applications for personnel measures for civil servants must be submitted electronically at least 8 weeks before the planned date by the respective department to be recruited to the following e-mail address: Dez4_2@zv.uni-paderborn.de.

After receipt of the corresponding application, the procedure will be carried out by the Human Resources Department - Unit 4.2.

The arrangements required in this context (recruitment documents, appointment date, level determination, etc.) are to be made exclusively with the Personnel Department - Unit 4.2 exclusively.
