Writing an Exposé

"... and then all we need is your synopsis!" Writing an exposé - whether for clarifying the topic, for the supervisor or for applying for a scholarship - is often the decisive step towards a binding entry into the PhD phase.

In this workshop, we will use practical methods, focusing exercises, tips and information as well as feedback and exchange to clarify central questions around this important text type:

  • What does a good exposé look like and which text modules does it include?
  • What specific topic do I want to work on?
  • Which methods will I use?
  • What are the questions and goals that my doctoral project will address?
  • How do I formulate my PhD project so that others recognize the value of my research?

This workshop is aimed at PhD students just before or at the beginning of the PhD phase who currently want or need to prepare a synopsis for their project. You will delve deeper into your topic and the process of exposé writing, and take your text a step further.

A prerequisite for participation is that you are specifically working on an exposé at the time of the workshop and bring a first draft (1-2 pages) to the workshop.

Date: Thursday, February 15, 2024, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. (online).
