By train

Paderborn has a central main station ("Hauptbahnhof") as well as two other stations ("Kasseler Tor" and "Nordbahnhof") that are served by many regional and national trains.

From the main station you can reach Paderborn University either by cab (approx. 10 minutes) or by bus. If you choose to continue your journey by bus, take Line 6 (direction "Schöne Aussicht") to get out at "Uni/Schöne Aussicht" or take Line 1 (direction "Kaukenberg") or Line 100 (direction "Uni/Südring") to reach the university at "Uni/Südring".

By plane

The airport Paderborn-Lippstadt is located 20 km from Paderborn and can be reached by bus (Line S60). The nearest international airports are Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, and Hanover.

By car

Paderborn is situated along the A33 motorway and can be reached via the A2 or A44 motorways. Take the exit “Paderborn Zentrum” and then follow the signs to “Universität” along the B 64. 

The address to enter in the navigation system is "Warburger Str. 100, 33098 Paderborn". Parking is available on campus. We recommend the parking area alongside Warburger Straße. 

Public transport in Paderborn

In Paderborn, the PaderSprinter buses take you safely and comfortably to all areas of the city, including Paderborn University. Tickets can be bought directly on the bus, but the PaderSprinter app (called "Fahrplan-App") is highly recommended as the timetables are also available there and the tickets are cheaper than on the bus. If you are staying at the "Welcome Hotel", the nearest bus stop ("Fürstenweg") is just around the corner (3-4 minutes). From there, you can reach Line 14 (direction "Liethstaudamm"), which goes directly to the university ("Uni/Schöne Aussicht"). From "Neuhäuser Tor" (a 10 minutes walk from "Welcome Hotel") you can take Line 6 (direction "Schöne Aussicht") and get out at "Uni/Schöne Aussicht" as well.
