The Hour of the HAWs: Professorships at Universities of Applied Sciences (for Scientists, language German)

GAIN Online Workshop
"In the next few years, thousands of professorships at universities of applied sciences will become available. In this workshop, we will show you what prerequisites you should have and what kinds of support and ways there are to become eligible for appointment." The target group is scientists from the GAIN network and other interested parties (also in Germany).

Keynote, Panel Discussion, Networking: What role does gender play in the qualification phases? (for graduate students and all interested, in German)

The themed afternoon will kick off with a presentation by Dr. Anush Köppert from the DFG on equal opportunities in qualification phases. Information on the lecture can be accessed here in advance. This will be followed by a panel discussion on the topic "Dr*in - What role does gender (still?) play in qualification phases". Invited speakers are: Prof.in Dr.in Antje Langer, Dipl. Päd. Irmgard Pilgrim, Prof.in Dr.in Birgitt Riegraf, Prof.in Dr.in Ingrid Scharlau and Dr.in Julia Steinhausen. Dr.in Anda-Lisa Harmening and Dr.in Claudia Mahs will be the moderators.

Starting at 7:00 p.m., the Graduate Forum KW will offer a regulars' table on the above topic, during which further informal discussions on the role of gender in qualification phases and other topics can be held.

Research in Europe: National and European Research Funding (for Junior Researchers) [18.10.2022]

Information day for junior researchers on (individual) funding opportunities for a national and international career in science (academic and non-academic) organised by the European Liaison Office of the German Research Organizations (KoWi) and the University of Siegen. Those interested in doctoral studies, doctoral candidates, postdocs, and professors, who would like to obtain information for their own Junior Researchers, are cordially invited to participate.

Deutscher Studienpreis (Körber-Stiftung) [31.10.2022]

With the German Dissertation Award the Körber-Stiftung honors the best doctoral graduates from all disciplines. What counts most is the social significance of the research: young scientists are encouraged to highlight the social value of their own scientific achievements and to engage in a public debate about them.
To apply, the oral exam must have taken place between January 1 and December 31, 2022. The application portal closes at 11:59 p.m. on March 1, 2023. The application process is in German. Abstract and Essay have to be submitted in German language.

Feodor Lynen Research Fellowship (Alexander von Humboldt Foundation) [09/2022]

The Feodor Lynen Research Fellowship enables postdocs (up to 12 years after their doctorate) to spend a research stay of 6-24 months with members of the Humboldt Network abroad. Extensive benefits are also provided for any accompanying family. An online information event will be held on 25/10/22 from 14:00 to 15:30.

International Postdoctoral Fellowship [09/2022]

The fellowship (2 years plus one additional year if necessary) supports young scientists in the final phase of their dissertation who want to go to a university in Israel as a postdoc. Applicants need an academic sponsor at a university in Israel.

The Azrieli International Postdoctoral Fellowship will open online applications for the 2023-24 academic year on September 1, 2022. Applications must be submitted by November 15, 2022. The fellowship – now open to applicants from around the globe – offers funding of approximately EUR 58,000 (ILS 188,000) for 24 postdocs per year. Azrieli Postdoctoral Fellows can conduct research in any academic discipline at eligible institutions in Israel.
