The guesthouse apartments are intended to accommodate visiting academics during their stay at the University of Paderborn.
Bookings for students, interns, UPB employees*, or private guests can not be made. Furthermore, only persons over the age of eighteen can be accommodated - this also includes an accompanying person.
* Visiting academics with an employee status at the UPB (see employment contract) cannot be accommodated in the guesthouse due to tax regulations. The UPB Guest House offers apartments in two sizes: Single flats of approx.18 m2 for one guest and double flats of approx. 28 m2 for max. two persons (guest with/without accompanying person).
All apartments are fully equipped and consist of a room with integrated kitchenette and ensuite bathroom with shower/WC.The single flats have a single bed, the large flats are equipped with a double bed. Please note that no additional beds can be added.
Free of charge cancellation of the booking by the faculty is possible up to six weeks before the start of the rental period. After this deadline, the rental payments for those months that fall within a period of six weeks from the cancellation date are due. Should a new tenant be found at short notice, the cancellation fee will be refunded.
The tenancy agreement cannot be terminated prematurely after moving in. The conditions for short-term rentals apply here.

The rent is to be transferred by the 5th day of the month. In case of a multi-month lease, it is also possible to pay the total amount in advance or in the first month.
Cash payment is not possible. As an alternative to cash payment, the transfer can also be made by someone other than the guest, e.g. the host, by prior arrangement. After arrival, the guest can then refund the amount in cash.
The invoice contains the name and address of the payer, please provide this information when booking.
Please note that our guests are obliged to clean and ventilate their apartment themselves on a regular basis and should equip them with the appropriate cleaning products.
For the maintenance of the apartments, an additional professional basic cleaning is carried out on weekdays (Mon. - Fri. from 10 a.m.) - this service cannot be cancelled and does not release the tenants from their obligation to clean the apartment regularly.
The key can be collected by the guest on presentation of the identity card on the first* day of the move-in month from 1 p.m., depending on opening hours, either in the Service Centre or from the security guard. The Service Centre as well as the Security Guard Lodge (glass box opposite the library) are located in the foyer of the main entrance.
After this time, the key is ready for collection at any time (24/7).
*In January, the apartments are ready for move-in later than usual (see reservation form).
