| Inhalt | Ready, set, write! Academic writing can be a challenging, lonely, and tedious process, plagued by writer’s block or a lack of effective writing habits. However, writing is essential for progress and success in academia. This series of writing meetups is designed to support PhD students and postdocs in setting and achieving academic writing goals. In a welcoming environment conducive to writing, participants will motivate one another by writing independently yet in parallel. During the first meetup, participants will receive optional support in setting “SMART” goals, creating a writing plan, and maintaining effective writing habits. After creating a writing plan and a writing log, participants will begin writing! In subsequent sessions, participants will meet, set aside all distractions, and write. Sessions will conclude with participants documenting their writing progress and identifying any writing obstacles. Throughout the series of meetups, participants can seek optional support in overcoming writer’s block or revising their writing from the meetup facilitator. |

| Informationen zur Referentin | Dr. Pamela Heidi Douglas is a lecturer at Paderborn University and a native English speaker. Originally from Canada, she studied and has taught English in countries across Europe, North America, and Africa. During her studies, Heidi published her research in several peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences. After completing her Ph.D. at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Heidi began teaching English courses at Paderborn University in 2018. |
