Die Internationalisierungsaktivitäten und die Zahl der internationalen Studierenden – und damit auch der internationalen Alumni (= Ehemaligen) – nehmen an der UPB seit Jahren zu. Im Wintersemester 2010/2011 betrug bei 15.228 Studierenden insgesamt der Anteil ausländischer Studierender 8,9 %. Bis zum Wintersemester 2020/2021 stieg er auf 14,2 % - von 19.948 Studierenden waren 2.828 internationale Studierende.
Als Teil des Veranstaltungsformats „International Tuesdays“ werden in der Veranstaltung die Stabsstelle Alumni International und ihre Aktivitäten und Angebote vorgestellt. Dabei geht es u. a. um die Frage, wie internationale Alumni dafür gewonnen werden, sich über das Studienende hinaus aktiv für die UPB einzusetzen und welche Rolle sie dabei spielen können, um die internationale Sichtbarkeit der Universität zu stärken.
Außerdem wird erläutert, welche Rahmenbedingungen es für eine zentrale, internationale Alumniarbeit und -betreuung gibt, und welche Voraussetzungen sowie internen und externen Schnittstellen künftig noch geschaffen werden.
Die Veranstaltung richtet sich an alle interessierten Beschäftigen der Universität Paderborn.

Stay in Touch – International alumni management as an important part of internationalisation
Internationalisation and the number of international students has been constantly increasing at UPB over the past years - hence also the number of international alumni. In the winter semester 2010/11 the number of international students was 8.9%, based on the total number of 15.228 enrolled students at UPB. In the winter semester 2020/21 the number rose to 14.2% - from a total of 19.948 students, 2.828 were international students. During the event, participants will get an overview of UPB's International Alumni Relations Office and the activities and services it offers.
It will be discussed how international alumni can be motivated to engage with UPB after the end of their studies, and how they can contribute to increase UPB's international outreach and visibility. It will be shown which framework already exists for central, international alumni work, and which steps still need to be taken.
The event addresses all members of Paderborn University of who are interested in this topic.
