The course is aimed at employees who need English language skills for their work at Paderborn University and already have previous knowledge at level A1/A2.1.

Content

This is a general English course which is suitable for both academic and non-academic employees who have a basic knowledge of English (A2 level) but need to refresh or add to their present language skills. The English File course book provides engaging texts, audios and videos which motivate the participants and build their confidence to communicate in English in everyday situations. This course starts at unit 9 in the book, but as each unit deals with a different topic, new participants who are near the end of this level, can still join the course.

Trainer

Eileen Saager

Trainer´s background

Eileen Saager is a native of Ireland. She obtained the CELTA Qualification (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) from the University of Cambridge in Dublin. For many years, she has lived and worked in Paderborn as an English language teacher in adult education and has led group and individual classes in various well-known companies in the area. Since 2008, she has been a lecturer at the ZfS. Parallel to this, she has participated in numerous further training courses in foreign language didactics.

Notes

The seminar is designed as a face-to-face seminar. You will be informed of the room with the invitation.

To find out your language level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), you can take the following online tests: British Council Placement Test or Cambridge General English Test.
