Reimbursement of the semester fee
The semester fee, consisting of the social contribution of the student union (Studierendenwerk) and AStA contributions, can be fully or partly reimbursed within certain deadlines for the following reasons:
- disability
- leave of absence
- leave the university
- non-initiation of study
- stay of at least 4 months outside the area of validity of the regional semester ticket
The reimbursement of the semester fee because of leave of the university is done automatically within the deadlines.
In the case of leave of absence, it is possible to apply for a refund of the mobility fee. The application for refund has to be made online via PAUL before the beginning of the semester of leave of absence: PAUL > Studying > Manage your studies > My Applications
In the case of non-initiation of study, please submit an informal request for refund to the Registrar’s Office. Please indicate your contact data, the reason for reimbursement and your bank details. The date of (postal) receipt applies.
For a refund because of disability or a stay of at least 4 months outside the area of validity of the regional semester ticket, please apply for refund online via PAUL > Studying > Manage your studies > My Applications
