The Centre for Language Studies (ZfS) was established on 1st March 2007 and has steadily grown ever since. Currently, a team of 9 full-time employees, about 30 lecturers and 5 student assistants works on mastering the responsibilites of a centre for language studies in higher education.
"Heart" of the ZfS is the Self-Access Centre (I3.401), called Mediathek. This room with a wide range of available study material and 10 work stations invites you to study languages on your own. The team of the Mediathek is eager to help you with that.
Some of our language courses take place in special rooms such as the language laboratories. These alow language-teaching methods which are supported by computers.
The ZfS cooperates with different departments of the university and is a member of the Association of language centres, language teaching institutes and institutes of foreign languages (AKS) and the European Confederation of Language Centres in Higher Education (CercleS).
