Documentation of a study on childcare needs at Paderborn University

University members with children face particular problems when it comes to juggling their work/studies and family. For this reason, Paderborn University conducted a survey to document the need for childcare at the university. The study examined how university staff and students rate the range of childcare available, how they organise their responsibilities and the difficulties parents face. It also gathered information on what university members would like to see and their suggestions for improvement to change the situation at the university for the better.

Documentation of the university’s taster courses

In order to broaden the spectrum of study and career choices for young women, break down any potential barriers to STEM subjects and professions and provide targeted information on its STEM courses, Paderborn University has been holding a program of taster courses for girls aged 16-19 for several years now, offering them the opportunity to take part in STEM lectures, workshops and other events. This documentation presents the 2007 taster course program.

Project: Holiday programs for schoolchildren

Many parents working and studying at Paderborn University have trouble finding suitable childcare, especially during school holidays. To help tackle this problem, the university launched its holiday program project a few years ago. This brochure documents the pilot holiday programs project run in 1999 and provides an insight into how the project is organized, with details on how the programs are planned, implemented and evaluated.
