Special Award for Outstanding Commitment

Paderborn, 28 June 2025 – In a festive ceremony during the closing event of the international hackathon COLOURful Impact: Shape Your City, Nicolas Thieffry was honoured with the Special Award for Outstanding Commitment by the University Society of Paderborn.

The award ceremony took place at Paderborn University in the presence of numerous international students and project partners. The award was presented by Prof. Dr. Siebe, Chair of the University Society, with the laudatory speech delivered by Prof. Dr. Fahr, Vice President for Transfer and Sustainability.

Nicolas Thieffry, a master’s student in Business and Administration Management at Le Mans University, has been serving since May 2024 as the first Student Vice-President of the European university alliance COLOURS. From the outset, he has played a key role in shaping the alliance’s vision and structure—participating in early strategy meetings, the COLOURS Kick-Off in Paderborn, and the high-level conference “Shaping the future: European University alliances for a competitive Europe” in Brussels.

Particularly noteworthy is Nicolas’s central involvement in organising the COLOURful Impact: Shape Your City hackathon, which brought together students from across Europe to develop innovative ideas for sustainable and liveable urban development. Throughout his tenure, he has been a tireless advocate for meaningful student participation and cross-campus collaboration within the COLOURS alliance.

The University Society of Paderborn supports the university by funding academic and student projects and recognising outstanding achievements by students and graduates.

Congratulations, Nicolas, and thank you for your outstanding contributions!
