Application for the preparatory German language course (DSH course)

If you have not yet acquired one of the recognized German language certificates to enrol for a German taught degree course, you can - regardless of your nationality - apply for a preparatory German language course (DSH course) offered by the International Office (see question  11 of the application form). Our DSH courses start every three months. Please pay attention to the respective application deadlines.

Application for degree courses

Applicants who already hold one of the recognized language certificates can directly apply for our degree courses. In case that applicants do not have certified copies of their documents, they can also apply with uncertified copies.
However, for a application for acourse start at the summer term 2021, certified copies must be submitted by 15 January at the latest.
The deadlines for the application are as follows (Uni-Assist + by post in paperform): 

German taught degree courses:

• Winter semester (starting in October) until 31st May
• Summer semester (starting in April) until 15th January

English taught Master programs requiring application in paper form:

• Winter semester (starting in October) until 15th March
• Summer semester (starting in April) until 15th September
• Refers to the following Master programs:

• • Master English and American Literary and Cultural Studies (before: English and American Studie)
  • Master International Economics and Management

Please send your certified documents directly to the International Office.

English taught Master programs requiring online application via Uni-Assist:

• Winter semester (starting in October) until 31st May
• Summer semester (starting in April) until 30th November
• Refers to the following Master programs:

• • Msc. Electrical Systems Engineering 
  • Msc. Computer Engineering
  • Msc. Computer Science
  • Msc. Applied Neurosciences in Sports & Evercise
  • Msc. Materials Science
  • Msc. Optoelectronics and Photonics
  • Msc. Physics
