It is most likely that the upcoming winter semester will also consist of a mix of online and face-to-face teaching – unfortunately, as the situation surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak continues to change, no definitive statements can be made at this point.
Despite the many challenges, we are working hard to ensure your student journey at Paderborn University gets off to the best possible start.
The winter semester 2020/21 lecture period for all first semester students will begin on November 2, 2020. Courses for higher semester students in North Rhine-Westphalia will commence one week earlier, on October 26, 2020. Freshers’ week (the welcome and introduction period) will start on October 19, 2020, and the lecture period for the winter semester will run for an extra week, until February 12, 2021.
Please refer to the information provided by the teaching staff and in PAUL in advance of the lecture period.
We know that studying at a university is all about personal contacts, close collaboration and lively discussions. And we know that the current pandemic does not at present allow for this. Nevertheless, we look forward to warmly welcoming you into our community and will do everything we can to make sure your programmes and modules inspire and motivate you and to support you to succeed in your studies.
