Paderborn University is a member of the NRW Patent Association. In 2002, the universities of North Rhine-Westphalia and the patent exploitation agencies PROvendis GmbH and rubitec GmbH founded the "Patentverbund der NRW-Hochschulen". Since then, it has been jointly supported and developed by the Federal Government (BMWi), the state (MIWF) and the universities of the state.
The Science-to-Business NRW funding measure "PatentScouts der NRW-Hochschulen" of the MIWF NRW is linked to the objective of sensitising scientists comprehensively to the topic of inventions and patents.
The patent scouts advise inventors on site, organise specialist information events and support the universities conceptually in the development of their patent and exploitation strategies. The long-term goal is to increase the number and quality of inventions at all NRW universities and to strengthen cooperation between science and industry by promoting exploitation activities.
Dr. Olaf Klatt is your contact and patent scout at Paderborn University.
